What is TutorHQ?
TutorHQ brings your teaching website, everyday teaching tools, and student experience together. Your students see your teaching business and brand. You manage your lessons, learners, packages, and progress in your own private workspace.
TutorHQ is not a teacher marketplace. Your teaching business has its own private space, separate from other teachers. The TutorHQ team helps set up which tools are available for your business.
English By Sabz is the featured real-world example. The product demo is a separate, temporary sample space with made-up student and lesson information.
How do I get started?
A TutorHQ workspace is created for one teacher or teaching business. We start with your business name, what you teach, your teacher profile, and how you want your site to look. Together, we choose which tools will help you teach and manage students.
You can prepare your site and workspace before you have your own website address. Student email sign-up, payment checkout, and private file sharing need a little setup before they are ready to use.
Use the Talk about your setup link on the TutorHQ site to plan your first steps. We will confirm current pricing with you when we understand which tools you need.
How much does TutorHQ cost?
TutorHQ's site does not list a fixed monthly plan price yet. The total depends on the tools your teaching business needs and which services you want us to set up. Talk with us and we will confirm the current price before you decide.
You decide how much one lesson credit costs for your students. TutorHQ applies the pack discounts: no discount for 25 credits, then 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% off packs of 50, 100, 200, and 500 credits.
You can start by exploring the public demo or booking a setup call. During setup, we will learn about your teaching, prepare your site and teacher space, and connect services such as your email, payments, or website address when needed.
Your teaching website
What can I put on my teaching website?
Your public teaching site introduces your lessons, packages, teaching approach, and teacher profile. You can choose your brand colors and update the main welcome text. Your profile can include details such as your name and time zone.
Your site can have a contact form, a list of your lesson packages, and your own privacy, terms, and refund pages. Messages from the contact form are saved to your private inbox. Email alerts about new enquiries need your email service to be connected.
You can prepare your site before choosing your own website address. When you are ready, TutorHQ will guide you through connecting that address while keeping your current email service in place.
Can I use my own website address and keep my email?
Your website address and your email service do different jobs. The website address takes students to your teaching site. Your email provider keeps managing your inbox and sending email.
When you are ready to use your own website address, TutorHQ will give you a small change to make in your domain account. We check that you own the address and finish connecting the website before it goes live.
If you use SiteGround or another company for email, keep that email service in place. The website connection should not interrupt your email.
Your workspace and students
What can I manage in my teacher workspace?
Your teacher workspace is your private home for the day-to-day work of teaching. You can keep a list of your students, update profiles, set lesson times, review bookings, and record when lessons are complete or cancelled.
Set the times you teach each week, add an extra available time, or block a day off. You can also choose how early a student may cancel, set a short grace period for late arrivals, and save a video-call link or lesson-note format.
You can keep private notes and follow-up reminders for each learner. Other tools include an enquiry inbox, invitations for another teacher or helper, and simple summaries of your students, lessons, and enquiries. Each teacher only sees information from the teaching space they belong to.
Can I choose which tools I use?
TutorHQ sets up tools separately for each teacher. One teaching business can use a different mix of tools from another. Your students and teaching information stay in your own private space.
Tools can cover your public website, student accounts, lesson bookings, credits and payments, courses and quizzes, progress, messages and reminders, and private file sharing. You can start with the tools you need and add others as your teaching business grows.
Some tools need setup before they are ready. For example, students need your email service to sign up; you need a payment account before students can buy credits; and file sharing needs private storage. We will explain what is needed and help you set it up.
What can my students do in their accounts?
Your students get a teaching site with your name and style. They can manage their account, see your lessons and packages, book times you have made available, check their lesson credits, and keep track of their learning.
Your students' details stay in your teaching space and are not shown to other teachers. Where available, students can download a copy of their own account and learning information or close their account.
Students can create an account by confirming a code sent to their email, once your email service is set up. If they forget their password, they can request a one-time reset link. Teacher and student sign-in are separate.
Lessons, credits, and learning
How do lesson bookings and cancellations work?
You set when students can book you by choosing your usual weekly hours, adding a one-off time, or blocking a day off. Students only see the lesson times you have made available.
You can review past lessons, mark them complete, or cancel them. Students can cancel their own booking based on the rules you choose. When a cancellation meets your rules, the lesson credits go back to the student's balance.
You can set how much notice is needed to cancel, how long to wait for a late student, save a video-call link, and create a lesson-note format. Your students and bookings stay private in your teaching space.
Can TutorHQ connect to my calendar or video-call app?
TutorHQ's current guides do not list an automatic connection to Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly, Zoom, or Teams. You can set the lesson times students may book in your TutorHQ workspace.
TutorHQ does not host video calls. You can save your own video-call link in lesson settings so students know where to meet you.
If you need a connection to another app, tell the TutorHQ team which one you use and we will confirm what is possible for your setup.
How do lesson credits and bigger packs work?
Lesson length is simple: 1 credit books 30 minutes, 2 credits book 60 minutes, and 3 credits book 90 minutes. You choose how much one credit costs for your teaching business.
Students can choose packs of 25, 50, 100, 200, or 500 credits. TutorHQ applies the same discount for each pack across teachers: 25 credits has no discount; 50 credits saves 5%; 100 saves 10%; 200 saves 15%; and 500 saves 20%. The final price depends on the value you set for one credit.
Students can pay with Yoco or Stripe once your payment account has been connected. You can review purchases and student credit balances in your teaching space. A cancelled lesson returns credits only when your cancellation rules say it qualifies.
The public demo does not take payments. It never contacts Yoco or Stripe and never uses real payment details.
Can I create courses, quizzes, and learning materials?
You can list your lesson packages and build a course by arranging its lessons in order. Students can join a package, work through the lessons, and pick up where they left off.
You can add multiple-choice quizzes. The answers stay private, and TutorHQ marks the quiz. You can ask a student to pass before moving to the next lesson. You can also share useful links and materials with a learner, add a private note, and see whether they have read what you shared.
These learning tools can be turned on for your teaching space as needed. Sharing uploaded files needs private file storage to be set up first; sharing links does not.
How can I follow student progress?
You can write private notes about a student and set a reminder to follow up. Progress reports let you share a clear summary of what a learner has worked on. Your workspace can also show simple totals for students, lessons, packages, and enquiries.
If you want, you can turn on points and levels, award badges, or show a leaderboard to your signed-in students. The leaderboard only shows students from your teaching space and uses first names.
You choose which of these tools to use. Visitor counts are separate from student progress. Optional visitor tracking can be set to respect your site's privacy choices.
Can TutorHQ help me prepare practice exercises?
Some teaching workspaces can include a separate tool that helps a teacher draft practice exercises. The teacher reviews and approves every draft before a student can see it. It is optional and can be turned on for a workspace when its setup is ready.
The TutorHQ website assistant is different: it searches TutorHQ's written product guides and returns those answers. It does not write open-ended answers with AI. If it cannot find a reliable answer, it says so and saves the question for the TutorHQ team to review.
Messages, privacy, and the demo
Can I send students messages and reminders?
Your contact form can save enquiries in a private inbox for you to review and follow up. Sending an email when a new enquiry arrives needs your email service to be connected first.
You can send emails in your own brand about enquiries and lesson changes. Lesson reminders can go out 24 hours and one hour before a class, based on each student's choice. Teachers and active students can send messages inside the teaching site; browser notifications are another optional feature.
Your email, reminders, student messages, and browser notifications are separate options. Email-based options need your email service to be set up before they can work.
Who can see my students’ information?
Your teaching business has its own private TutorHQ space. Your student accounts, bookings, lesson credits, packages, and learning information are kept separate from other teachers' information.
You can see the student information needed to teach your learners. Where available, students can download a copy of their own information or close their account. Any special support access by TutorHQ is restricted and recorded.
Private file sharing and visitor tracking are optional tools that are set up separately. The public demo uses made-up student and lesson details in temporary private spaces; those details are deleted when the demo ends. Your demo signup email is kept separately, and marketing emails are sent only if you choose to receive them.
What happens when my demo ends?
The public TutorHQ demo lets you try the teacher and student sides of the product. Each visitor gets a private temporary space with made-up student and lesson details, so visitors do not see one another's information.
Demo access lasts for a limited time. When it ends, the sample space, accounts, and activity are deleted. Your signup email is kept separately. TutorHQ only sends product announcements if you choose to receive them.
Payments are turned off in the demo, so no real payment is taken. Uploading files may not be available. The demo is a way to explore TutorHQ; it is not a real teaching business or payment account.
